Sunday and Monday

Sunday was a great day for Us Shaws. We went to walmart and got dough nuts and air fresheners for our new car. Than we drove around in the country and it was a very beautiful driving day! When we were done, we came home and ate a really great pot roast that Janis made, and just relaxed for the rest of the day. Late at night though, we took a drive for about 2 minutes around the block to see the stars through our new sunroof. It was very freezing and also romantic! OH yeah, just to get it down, Ellery has been saying "sure" now all the time. Like Ellery could you pick up that toy? " Sure mom" etc. Also he has been telling me he thinks I am doing a good job. Like "Good job with that laundry mom" "You did a good job" It is hilarious!

Monday was our work on the house day/ Ellery and Charlie's gma day, We got a lot of work done, Robby partially installed the new shower we bought, and I touched up a lot of the paint. By the afternoon, however, I was in some good pain, so I laid on the bed and read a birthing book. I like to read as much as I can on hippy birthing or tribal birthing as I can during my third trimester, and this is the second book I have been reading this time. It was nice to be able to spend some time with Robby like that. I haven't been able to do that in a long time.. It also makes me really excited to get to give birth again soon! After I dropped Robby at work, I went and picked Leah up and we went to the movies and saw "its complicated" It was good, The highlights of the movie however, where the part where I snorted(I was sitting with a baby taking over my lungs, how could I help it?)What made that funnier is that we had accidentally gone to a closed caption movie, and there was a deaf woman laughing at me! The biggest highlight, however was that we had decided to go to a movie but get no popcorn or pop. We could only spend 5 bucks each. Fine. But when we got into the bathroom there was a popcorn pop combo deserted in there!! I dumped it out and it was not even salty or buttery. I said it was as if a diabetic had left us their popcorn bag!! Anyway, we got them filled up and it was the best popcorn and coke I've ever had!!!(mostly because I saved nine bucks!)My day ended with Robby getting out of work an hour early and we went home and he gave me a great back massage. Friday and Saturday

Friday was a good day. I had a doctor's appt. in the morning. An ultrasound and a regular checkup. Baby girl is measuring @ 43% and weighs 4.2 ounces. All is going great! Robby got the afternoon off to go with me, and it was really great to get to spend some time with him that I wasn't either waking up or going to sleep! We also ate pizza from little ceasar's, which was good!!! The evening was pretty low key. I made italian beef in the crock pot, which was so great, and after the boys went to bed I made homemade laundry detergent. We have been using that for almost a year, and I really love it.

Next comes Saturday, Robby didn't have to work until the late afternoon today, and we had decided to buy a car with part of our tax return. So today we went to Chicago and bought a car!!! It's a 1997 Volvo wagon, (Some of you may know that Robby and I are absolutely in love with these,) It is green and has tan leather interiors. It is exactly the car we have been looking for, and the best part is that we were able to pay cash! *We are still paying off our Scion, which we have had for three years now, so this is a great feeling. I think that having two cars will keep me alot more sane. I am not much of a homebody and having to be home most of 6 days a week was part of my losing it on wednesday. (and days like wednesday), All in all this was a very great day, and I am excited that tomorrow is sunday and that I get to spend all day with my fabulous Robby!!!!

Wednesday

Today I realized that I am really really pregnant.  I almost cried at almost every adult interaction I had, just because of oozing hormones.  We went to a new mom's group at Janis's church, and I know I will like it, next week, but the whole time I was there, I was just feeling like crying. Like I needed to cry before I went, and than I would have been fine.  Also I realized going into public without caffiene in my system isn't a good idea.  It makes those oozy hormones more slippery. Anyway, after that mom's group and putting the boys down, I decided to just stay downstairs and play with they boys and eat simple food for dinner.  So we did that and I really do feel alot better.  Somedays, you just need to cry and than keep yourself from over-stimulation.  Today was one of those days.  And I had a great afternoon wrestling on the floor with my boys! Also, celery and almonds are no mess foods, great for when you don't want do worry about a stressful dinner/cleanup.(Which I think I was still recovering from yesterday's crazyness!)This can be a reply to Kelly if you want to think I am always happy and great by the way!

monday and tuesday

Monday was a very good day.  It started with us getting the boys up together, very normal, and than getting them situated with there breakfasts, and than we left them in the great care of their grandma!!  Every monday that we can, we go over to our house(which we are trying to sell) and work on it, so Janis keeps the boys.  It is nice, because we really need to get the house done, but we also get to do it all with just the two of us. It is like a really weird date day.  So this one started with starbucks, and than we went to the house and worked.  I got to buy a book at Borders while we detoured there over lunch.  The book is called the clean food diet, and it is awesome, because it has lots of info, like exactly what to buy, along with pics of what your fridge could look like if you put it in there!  Anyway, than at five, Robby went to work, and I went to the library and found an awesome book called A Small Farm In Maine.  It is really awesome!!!  So to finish the day, I met Leah (my sister) to see Leap Year, which I paid for with change!( for the third time actually)  It was a really good movie, I laughed, cried, snorted while I laughed, and had to cross my legs really tightly while I cried not to pee, so again, that was very worth my 5 bucks in quarters and dimes!
Tuesday was a little more crazy!  The morning was normal, food, baths, playing, laundry, napping.I even got to read with my feet up for an hour!!!  In the afternoon, I felt so good that I thought I would make some loaves of bread.( I have been making bread regularly for about a year and a half, with the exception of the last two months, I haven't made a single loaf.)I also decided that while my bread was rising, I would make chocolate chip cookies, since I know Robby loves them, and he is gonna have a pretty stressful week.  So I got the boys each their own measuring cup of water, one of salt, one of flour, and one of sugar. This was a good, fun idea, but clean up was a bad bad price to pay!!  The boys had so much fun, so it was totally worth it, but they trashed themselves and the floor and cabinets, etc.  They had to have another bath(in the sink)which I thought would be great, they could each get one side, and I would clean the floor.  I don't think I had ever seen an 8 month preggo try to clean tiled floors before.  It wasn't pretty. Nor did it feel very good.  The best and most embarassing part was that Ellery and Charlie managed somehow to take apart the sink.  The whole sprayer was taken off, and the tube that connected it had fallen.  I felt like such a lucky mom!But thats okay, my cookies rocked and the bread was half eaten at dinner, the other loaf  frozen.  I think I will wait until baby girl comes to try and bother again!
This was followed by a very fast good night routine, and my longest bath to date!!!! I am now once again a happy girl and am planning on sitting on my heating pad reading A Small Farm In Maine, ignoring the laundry that wasn't folded and waiting until Robby gets home!!!!

A new today

Today actually started with Charlie waking up 2 hours early.  Good start, we were able to get out the door in time to get donuts at Walmart!! While I was checking out, I saw my uncle Doug, standing in line right behind me!!!Life is so odd sometimes!
We went to the Old Stone Church in Rockton.  It was very nice.  They people there were all very friendly.  We have been "newcomers" for about 5 years to all sorts of different churches and this one had by far the most inviting congregation. The pastor,"Pastor Dan"  invited us to sit with his family, so that we could feel like we at least knew some people there.  It was very encouraging.  We decided to continue going there, especially with our baby girl due in about 6 weeks.  We haven't had a church to welcome our child in, and it will be nice to at least be familiar with a group of people to bring her into.
After a nice sermon, we went out on our little road trip.  We drove the back roads  up to Lake Geneva, WI, and brought the boys BOWLING!!!  It was so much fun!! I bowled exactly one ball, and than (Painfully) realized I had NO place bowling!!So Robby helped the boys bowl, it was hilarious!!! Their final scores were:  Ellery and Robby tied with 80 and Charlie won with 86!!! It was so funny!!
After a winding drive/ nap for the boys and ended our trip in Beloit. We ate really good pizza, which was really exciting for me, not only because I am pregnant and crave pizza everyday, but because since I have been pregnant I have ordered pizza like 10 times and it is always not very good. Or at least not what I wanted at all!
We ended our day with a great bath( my third trimester norm) and a heating pad after that, which has soothed me into getting on the computer and writing this first blog since April!!!

Today

Today was a good day. We spent time with the boys and I got to get my hair done. We are wondering what life has in store and hopefully will know soon enough. Thats where we are right now. Peace! Kati
